 It’s a wonder why we haven’t honored Wil Wheaton as Celebrity Geek of The Week sooner. He has been a geek since he was young starring as the memorable Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, a show, in any of the versions, that even if you just had a guest appearance on you were forever imbedded in geek culture by association of one of the shows labeled as the epitome of geeky.

Post-Star Trek Wil has continued to grace the small screen gearing mostly towards the geek audience; doing voices for shows like Teen Titans, Ben 10, Naruto, and Batman The Brave and The Bold to name a few. He’s guest-starred in The Outer Limits, Eureka, and does a spot on impression of Wil Wheaton on The Big Bang Theory.

But besides appearing on sci-fi shows and voicing superhero cartoons, Wil keeps his hand in another aspect of the geekdom by lending his voice to video game greats like: Fallout:New Vegas, Everquest II, DC Universe Online, and four of the Grand Theft Auto video games in the series. He is also an avid Dungeons and Dragons player, adding to the proof of his geeky-ness.
To pile more on, he has appeared in an issue of the comic book PS 238, appearing as a telekinetic version of himself.

 Wil has never been one to hide his geeky side. In fact he revels in it, running a blog. He acts in the online series The Guild, based around World of Warcraft. He’s even written a book….

You’d be a hardpressed to find someone who didn’t appreciate Wil Wheaton as a geek (Sheldon Cooper aside of course). There has even been an unwritten rule created about playing games online, known as Wheaton’s Law; it simple states “Don’t be a dick.”
I could go on forever, talking about his countless involvements in the geek world; including what he’s done with/for Penny Arcade, w00tstock, and with nerdcore rapper MC Frontalot. But any true geek knows why Wil Wheaton is probably one of the most deserved of all of our Geek of The Weeks so far.
So congratulations Wil Wheaton you are, as you already know, the ultimate geek. Cartoons, sci-fi, comics, video games, conventions, he’s truly living the geek life….that bastard.
